Trainer: Violet Chan
I often start my workshops with this question: What differentiates one fresh-faced, wide-eyed graduate from another? In other words, what is your competitive edge over the next person interviewing for the same position. In an interview setting where you have only fifteen minutes to make a positive and lasting first impression, your visual presentation speaks volumes. So, isn't it a shame when we are sabotaged by our very own appearance? Hence, the focus of this workshop really, is to bring out the best in you, such that you are perceived in the right way!
I must be talking about deportment at this point! The way we stand and walk communicate to others how we want to project ourselves.
We even managed to cover a segment on the different poses - whether we are standing to wait for our interview, taking a selfie, or taking a proper resume profile photograph, now we all know what to do!
We had lots of fun as we shared candidly the top image destroyers for both gentlemen and ladies. Any of these strike a chord with you?
Guess why we were all standing up? Hands-on application and learner engagement in the learning process are vital to the pedagogical principles of our workshops. Developing one's personal style is not simply blindly following other people's definition of what looks good. As a trainer, I believe in empowering my learners with understanding their own body shapes and proportions, thus developing the confidence to accentuate our assets.
I wrapped up the workshop with a deep sense of satisfaction, sincerely hoping for the ladies to apply what they have learnt, and bring out the best in themselves so they can shine!
